If you feel called to help others through faith-based guidance, compassionate listening, and practical counseling support, this course gives you a structured place to begin. Over 10 weeks, you will receive instruction and support designed to help prepare you for certification while strengthening your understanding of Christian counseling and the responsibility that comes with serving people well.

Bishop R. Joseph Cooks is the founder and Overseer of the Evangelistic Restoration Church, Houston, Texas and Sr. Pastor of The House of Prayer Deliverance Church . The Evangelistic Restoration Church was founded in June 1997, beginning with 72 members, under the guidance of GOD to "reach and restore" the love and joy of the Lord to the world by enriching lives by the Word of God thru the Power of GOD, and for the glory of GOD. Bishop Cooks is a native of Houston; TX. R. Joseph Cooks has been speaking into peoples lives since he was 15 years old. He is quite sensitive to people’s feeling and situations with guidance and encouragement. He has counseled a many persons to a better life with a longevity of successful results. He received his Bachelor’s degree from The Institute of Theology and Christian Therapy. He earned his Master’s degree from Family Life Bible Institute. He is currently working on his Doctorate from Christian Bible Institute and Seminary. He is the husband of the lovely Laura Cooks of 36 year. They have 3 sons, Ronald II, Jarred, & Josiah. Two grandsons, Bryson and Jarred II.
